Privacy Policy

In short: this site has no accounts or advertising. If you play the Crack the Lock game we keep the username you choose and your score, and your email only if you sign up for Saelem’s newsletter. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see how the site is used. Music and video players from YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music only load if you allow them, and those companies handle any data they collect under their own policies.
Who we are
This is the official website of the recording artist Saelem (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy or your data, contact us through Saelem’s official Instagram, @saelemonly.
What we collect
Most of this site asks you for nothing. The exception is the Crack the Lock game, described below. There are no accounts, contact forms, comment sections or purchases, and we don’t run advertising tools. Google Analytics collects usage information as described below.
The Crack the Lock game and newsletter
When you play Crack the Lock we save the username you enter, your score, the number of tracks you unlocked, when you played, your approximate country (from your connection) and the site that sent you, if any. Your username appears on the badge you can choose to share.
If you tick the newsletter box, we also save your email address and use it only to send you Saelem’s newsletter: stories about his life, his experiences, his journey and what’s behind and beyond the music. We don’t sell or share it. Every newsletter will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us at any time to delete your details by messaging @saelemonly.
This information is stored privately with our host, Vercel, and is kept until you ask us to delete it or we stop running the game and newsletter.
Cookies and similar storage
We use one small item of your browser’s local storage to remember your cookie choice, so we don’t ask you again on every visit. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, listed below.

Music and video players
You can play Saelem’s music and videos on this site through players provided by other companies. These players only load after you allow them, either in the cookie banner or when you press play. Once loaded, the provider may set cookies, receive your IP address and device information, and record what you play, under its own privacy policy:

If you don’t allow the players, you can still open any song or video directly on those services using the links provided.
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a service from Google. It records things like the pages and sections you view, how long you stay, the site that referred you, and your device, browser and approximate location (based on your IP address, which Google doesn’t store). We use this only to understand how the site is used. We don’t use it for advertising, and Google’s advertising features are turned off.
Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy. To opt out, you can block cookies for this site in your browser or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Links to other websites
This site links to streaming services and social networks, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and X. When you follow a link, you leave this site, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Hosting and fonts
This site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
The fonts are served from this site directly, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to a font provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Nigeria Data Protection Act or US state privacy laws. These include the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. The only personal data we hold ourselves is what you enter in the Crack the Lock game. Analytics data is held by Google, and player data by the services above, and you can contact them directly. You can also contact us, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding a newsletter, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and ask for your consent where it’s needed.
